The article highlights the history of the construction of seven buildings for the medical faculty of the Novorossiysk University in the 1896–1905 period. V. V. Podvysotsky’s role as a member of the building commission was underlined. The history of the appearance and content of inscriptions on the exterior walls of buildings of the Medical Faculty in Odessa were considered in details. The questions of the placing five bas-reliefs of the pathologists as well as the motto of the Odessa National Medical University on the morphological building, which could be one of the two Latin phrases placed in the main building of the University, are being discussed.
