LIQUID-CRYSTALLINE CONCEPTION OF ATHEROSCLEROSIS — THE WAY TO CONSOLIDATION OF LIPID AND VASCULAR THEORIES

It was proposed the original conception of atherogenesis, based on the idea that the lipids of human arterial walls under the temperature of the internal habitat of organism are found in liquid-crystalline state and demonstrate ferroelectric properties. The electric polarization of liquid-crystalline lipids stimulate prolifiration of surrounding cell elements, cause fibrosis, and condition of morphogenesis of atherosclerotic plaques.
