THE USE OF PLATELET-RICH PLASMA IN COMPLEX TREATMENT OF PATIENTS WITH GUNSHOT WOUNDS

Sixty wounded casualties have been treated using platelet-rich plasma (PRP) since October 2014 in Military Clinical Medical Center of the South region. Autologous PRP was applied twice a week. The results showed wound pain resolution, activation of wound bed granulation and marginal epithelization. 100% of wounds healed within 45 days on average. In 5% of cases the use of PRP did not influence wound process significantly. No complications were observed.
