IN COMMEMORATION OF PROFESSOR PAVEL HENRYHOVICH GAFT

P. H. Gaft is a professor, Honoured higher school worker, a follower of academician G. I. Markelov. Still being a student he payed great attention to science, beginning from junior courses he was engaged in scientific research work. After he went through the Great Patriotic War, P. H. Gaft became the instructor of the Military Medical Department of the Odessa Medical Institute. In 1949 he became the head physician of the Ukrainian Scientific Research Institute of Neurology and Psychiatry where Pavel Henryhovich had been working from the post of the lecturer to the post of professor. From 1966 he was the head of the Nervous Diseases Department of the Zaporizhye Medical Institute where for many years he successfully took part in scientific, treatment-consulting and teaching activity. The first in Ukraine centre of investigating the vascular diseases of the nervous system was founded under his guidance.
