EFFICACY OF NOVEL METHODS OF DIABETES MELLITUS TREATMENT

The aim of present research was to study the comparative efficacy of continuous subcutaneous insulin injection (CSII) and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) in patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) type 1 and 2 on the level of fasting and postprandial glucose as well as frequency of adverse effects of insulin therapy — the cases of day-time and night-time hypoglycemia.

Combination of CSII with CGM during 2 and 6 months in patients with DM type 1 and 2 provided the lowest level of day-time and night-time hypoglycemia, while the significant difference from CSII was absent. Only combination of CSII with CGM provided an achievement of target level of fasting and postprandial glycemia in patients with DM type 1 and 2.
