COMPLEX MULTIDISCIPLINARY APPROACH AS THE BASE OF PREVENTION OF MOTHER-TO-CHILD TRANSMISSION OF HIV AND MANAGEMENT OF HIV-INFECTED CHILDREN

The conception of multidisciplinary approach to management of HIV-infected pregnant women and children born to HIV-positive mothers was presented in the article. Multidisciplinary approach includes combine management of HIV-infected patients by multidisciplinary team (physician, nurse and social worker) of regional anti-AIDS center and specialists from obstetrical and children’s out-patient clinics and other hospitals. Social support of families of HIV-infected women is an obligate part of multidisciplinary approach.
