The article is dedicated to the history of foundation of the bacteriologic station in Odessa, one of its founders was a scientist Nikolay Fyodorovich Gamaleya, the first in Russia and Ukraine disciple of L. Pasteur. It was N. F. Gamaleya who studied the method of rabies vaccination in details and became a defender and propagandist of such vaccinations.
