SPECIFICATIONS OF THE “LIFE CURVE” OF WOMEN WITH THE MENTAL DISORDERS IN THE INVOLUTION

A number of the specific features of the “life curve” of women with involutional psychosis are being examined in the given article. Based on detailed research of a small representative group (31 cases), which is formed from general research selections (234 observations), the typical “life curve” of generalized woman person with involutional psychosis was reconstructed. The structured life history obtained in this way was correlated to dynamics of personality disorders in the scientific literature. It was ascertained that “life curve” of observed patient corresponds to the typical dynamics of the personality disorder with prevailing tendencies to compensation. The thesis proposed by the author is that the decompensation in the age of involution may be a variant of dynamics of the narcisstic personality disorder.
