SEX BEHAVIOR OF RATS UNDER CONDITIONS OF PHARMACOLOGICALLY RESISTANT CHRONIC EPILEPTIC ACTIVITY DEVELOPMENT AND EFFECTS OF THIOCTIC ACID

The obtained data suggest the suppression of sex behavior under condition of chronic epileptic activity modeling in female rats via subthreshold doze repeated picrotoxin administration (pharmacological kindling). Administration of antioxidants — thioctic acid (alpha-lipoic acid — 30.0 vg/kg, i. p.) diminished manifestations of disturbances of sex behavior. That fact is in favor for the role played by peroxidative mechanisms in the mentioned disturbances of sex behavior.
